5 Best headphones for podcasting in 2022 (under $100)

Bad sound can ruin a great song. A joke. And it can throw off accuracy when I’m editing.
I wanted something noise canceling aka the AirPods Pro. But I didn’t want to drop that much money on it right now. Especially because I already have the older AirPods. Which I’ve replaced after my right bud was run over by a car.
I was ready to drop about $100 on something great. But with so many different types and models of headphones on the market, it can be tough to know which ones live up to the hype. That’s why I put together this list of the best headphones for podcasting in 2022.
I’m embarrassed to admit how many of these I’ve owned at once. Despite only having two ears.
Some have even been tested on friends or clients. So no matter your budget or your needs (recreational or professional), I’ve got you covered.
Below are some of the best headphones for podcasting under $100:

What you’ll love about these
I got two pairs and used them for podcast once I crossed 250k downloads. I felt professional. The level of noise canceling was pretty solid. There’s a real studio level feel and quality to them. The thick accordion wires have a resilient feel to them.

What might bother you
- You have to plug it into a classic headphone jack, which means it’s wired
- It also means you’ll need this Apple headphone adapter (if you’re using iPhone or iPad)
- If you have a smaller head, these look a bit bigger than I expected. Rogan’s head makes the headphones look smaller.

What you’ll love about these
Even though it’s not noise canceling, I enjoyed the minimalist look and feel to it. The sound is still pretty good, but can get rough in busy environments. I lived in Philly for years and it was able to withstand construction and city sound effects. Tolerate is a better word.
What might bother you
- For some ears, it can fall out with some force (ie. working out)
- As it ages a few years, you’ll notice you have to charge it more often (thankfully it is fast)
- May have to buy it from Amazon resellers
